Description
The S.Y Jambo is a stylish wooden sailing yacht based in the Zanzibar channel. When the breeze picks up the seven sails are hoisted making an impressive sight. By day you will anchor in calm mangrove fringed lagoons. Dives are planned along Pemba’s west and south east coast. Diving around Pemba is generally drift diving and you will have an opportunity to dive some of Africa’s most spectacular reefs. There is an abundance of reef fish and on some of the deeper sites you may even encounter whale shark and manta rays.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Mombasa where you will be met and transferred by road to Shimoni Reef hotel on Kenya’s south coast. Overnight at Shimoni Reef Hotel.
Day 2-7
After breakfast board the S/Y Jambo and depart on your 6 night dive cruise around Pemba Island. Diving three times daily you will get to explore the very best of Pemba’s reefs. In between dive you can relax on the deck, soak up some sun and chat about the day’s dives.
Day 8
Return to the mainland and transfer to Mombasa for your flight home.
Accommodation & Facilities:
The S/Y Jambo is equipped to sleep up to twelve guests. One cabin has a double bed and four have double bunks. There is a facility to sleep two extra guests in the main salon if the charter is a private full boat booking, otherwise a maximum of ten people are catered for. All cabins are air-conditioned and have fans. There are three bathrooms with toilets and hot water showers. Towels are provided. On the main deck is a television salon/bar, an upper deck dining area, and a sundeck. The S/Y Jambo is equipped specifically for diving and is manned by experienced Dive Masters and crew. |
