Description

Buffalo Hills is located along the beautiful Garden Route and offers a unique bush experience in a Malaria free area. The reserve has three of the Big Five, and a range of antelope and smaller game, although sighting the rare forest elephants is a celebrated occasion.Set in a lush green valley with magnificent mountains as a back drop, Buffalo Hills offers a wonderful bush escape.

Rooms

The reserve has two lodges: Buffalo Hills Lodge and Nyatii Tented Camp. Both are spacious and comfortably decourated and have a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. Buffalo Hills Lodge has four luxury en-suite bedrooms, two luxury en-suite tented lodges with, spa baths, showers and private lounges and one 2-bedroom Stone Cottage with its own private lounge and fireplace. There is also a guest lounge, and swimming pool and outdoor boma.

The Nyati Tented Safari Camp offers rustic luxury in the treetops. Each of the nine tents has a private observation deck from which to watch the surrounding wildlife. The rooms are equipped with twin or double beds, and en suite bathrooms which you can open out onto the forest canopy.

Facilities

The reserve offers daily game viewing activities either on foot accompanied by an experienced guide or in open 4x4 vehicles. Delicious home cooked meals are served in the Boma or indoor dining area and guests can relax and enjoy the view from the veranda in their leisure time. The Reserve also has it’s own distillery which brews a variety of flavoured mampoers (a strong liqueur).
