RUAHA RIVER LODGE

Description

Located on the Ruaha River, the lodge offers accommodation in private riverside 'bandas,' designed to blend seamlessly into the surroundings. The Ruaha River is the main life source in the area and wildlife is abundant.

Rooms

There are twenty rooms each with twin or double beds. The en suite bathrooms have a wash basin, toilet and shower with hot water. The windows have gauze for protection against mosquitos and lamps are provided at dusk. The local stone and thatch room has minimal impact on the environment and you can relax and enjoy game viewing from your veranda.

Facilities

Drinks can be enjoyed around a campfire on the river bank,or high up in the elevated bar with its spectacular views up and down the river. Tea and coffee can be ordered to your room and meals are served informally. There is a complimentary laundry service. Game drives and walks occur twice daily accompanied by experienced guides. You will rarely meet any other vehicles on your game drives around Ruaha's extensive and well-maintained road network. Game viewing is superb with regular sightings of leopard, lion, cheetah and hunting dog, as well as more rare species such as the Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable antelopes.
