Description

The Western Cape has some of the best rock climbing areas in South Africa. This tour gives you a taste of what the region has to offer. Starting out in the Cedarberg region you have three days of fantastic climbing. You then head to Montagu where you will be spoilt for choice on the legendary crags. From there travel to the coast to enjoy the some beach relaxation and spectacular scenery of the Kleinmond area. The tour is most suited to intermediate and advanced climbers and will be tailored to your individual climbing abilities.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrive in Cape Town. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the Cedarberg where you will be staying for the next three nights. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure, take a short hike or familiarize yourself with the route guides for the next few days climbing.

Day 2 & 3:
Set out to your rock climbing venue of choice and spend the day out on the crags. A packed lunch will be provided.

Day 4:
Take a short hike or return to the crags for a last morning of climbing. Head back to camp at midday and prepare to travel to Montagu. Take a drive south through some of South Africa’s most scenic mountain passes.

Day 5:
A leisure day, sleep in and enjoy a late breakfast. In the afternoon you can take a short hike to scout out the climbing routes. In Montagu the routes are endless and cater for all levels. Most routes are bolted and single pitch but there are also one or two multi-pitch areas.

Day 6 & 7:
After breakfast, head out to the climbing area and enjoy a full day of climbing. A packed lunch will be provided. Return to the Guesthouse where the evening is at leisure.

Day 8:
After breakfast, pack up and head off to Kleinmond. En route stop at some of the wine farms in the Robertson Valley. Arriving in Kleinmond the afternoon can be spent relaxing on the beach.

Day 9:
Enjoying the spectacular coastal scenery take a short hike up to the crags and enjoy a leisurely day’s climbing. Overnight in Kleinmond.

Day 10:
The morning is at leisure to enjoy the beach. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight home.
