Sample Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive at Cape Town international airport. You will be met by your guide and transferred to the Guesthouse in the city where you’ll be staying overnight. After freshening up, transfer to the V&A waterfront where you’ll depart on a tour to Robben Island. The balance of the evening is at leisure and you can enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants at the waterfront.
Day 2:
After breakfast at the guesthouse, embark on a walking tour of the city centre visiting the historical land marks. After the tour drive up to the coffee shop at Rhodes memorial located on the slopes of Devil’s Peak. There you can enjoy a lunch with spectacular views of the city. After lunch follow the trail from the memorial through Newlands Forest down to the world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens where sundowners and snacks await you. Relax in the gardens until closing and then transfer to your guesthouse.
Day 3:
Heading out to Tokai forest you can enjoy a spectacular mountain bike ride that will take you on some of Cape Town’s best single track. With a choice of several different routes the ride can be tailored according to your fitness and riding skills. Return to the guesthouse to shower and change before enjoying lunch at the famous River Café in the Constantia Vineyards. The rest of the afternoon will be spent exploring South Africa’s oldest wine estates and sampling their cultivars. Dinner will be enjoyed at Groot Constantia where you can sample some traditional Cape Malay cuisine.
Day 4:
After breakfast travel across to Hout Bay where you can enjoy a cruise out to Seal Island. The rest of the morning is at leisure and if the weather’s good you can enjoy the beach, or browse the many quaint shops nearby. If open drive along the world famous Chapman’s Peak drive to Noordhoek where you will stop for lunch at the farmstall. Overnight accommodation is at a guesthouse in Noordhoek and the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy a stroll or take a horse ride along the beautiful beach.
Day 5:
Following a leisurely breakfast at the guesthouse take a drive to Cape Point Nature reserve. Once there you’ll explore the cliffs on the South Western side of the peninsula which will take you up to the lighthouse. After lunch you pick up on the shipwreck trail which takes you meandering through fynbos with and opportunity to possibly spot some bontebok, Ostrich and Eland. At the end of the day transfer to Simonstown wher you can enjoy a delicious seafood dinner.
Day 6:
Walking down to the harbour, you’ll meet your kayak guide and take a leisurely kayak out to see the penguins at boulders beach. Returning to the guesthouse enjoy a quick freshen up before heading off to Kalk Bay. Here you can enjoy lunch at one of the many seaside cafés and spend the afternoon browsing the antique shops or relaxing on the beach. Later afternoon transfer across to Camps Bay where you can enjoy a spectacular Atlantic sunset from your guesthouse. Visit one of the many trendy restaurants for dinner.
Day 7:
A trip to Cape Town would not be complete without a visit up Table Mountain. From Camps Bay ascend on the pipe track up Kasteelpoort and onto Maclears Beacon. For those not wanting to walk you can drive around and ascend using the cable car. On a clear day the views from the top are spectacular! A great way to end your tour of Cape Town, descend the mountain by cableway and return to the guesthouse in Camps Bay.
Day 8:
Transfer to the airport in time for your flight home. |
